Spring 1986 — During production on Don Bluth’s second theatrical feature, An American Tail, Key Clean‑Up Artist Mark Pudleiner films his college friend, Junior Animator Ralph Zondag, as he explains the studio’s Animation Footage Charts. These charts, posted in the central workspace known as the “Music Room” near Don’s office, tracked the weekly footage approved by Don as the team pushed to stay on schedule. Ralph walks through how the numbers worked and even touches on what a rookie animator was earning during that spring of ’86.
